Jason Blair - Tenor Jason began his singing career in 1991, and quickly progressed into Chazzanut and Jewish liturgy. He was a regular host on a Radio show on Kiss FM, and more recently has had his own show on Jcom FM. He has also had appearances on BBC1, BBC2, BBC world service, sky one and Channel 4 and in Jan 2005 he took part in the official Westminster event in front of the Queen and Prime Minister of England, plus many others, including holocaust survivors, officials and dignitaries, for the holocaust memorial taking place. This event was televised worldwide. In 2005 and 2006 He was accepted, out of hundreds of applicants, onto "The Knack" a professional course for aspiring opera singers and performers, run by English National Opera. It culminated with a series of performances at The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. Jason is extensively learning repertoire from both the classical music field, and the Jewish liturgical field on an ongoing basis. Last year in June Jason returned to his career in television starting with an ecologically motivated mini series, which was filmed by Objective productions for channel 4, called “Dumped” www.channel4.com/dumped setting Jason with 10 other’s trying to survive. He succeeded and since then has filmed numerous parts as a supporting artiste and also as a principal actor and singer. In December of 2008, Jason was featured in two episodes of “Eastenders” (a popular British soap opera, aired on BBC1). He conducted the wedding ceremony for a returning character. In real life Jason remains a popular choice for Jewish weddings and happy couples getting married, sometimes being booked up to 2 years in advance. 2009 has been a busy year for Jason, in April he was selected to be the picture double for Jack Black in the remake of “Gullivers Travels”, due to be aired in December 2010. Jack Doolan is also doubled by Jason, in Ricky Gervais and Stephen merchant’s Directors debut, “Cemetery Junction” , also to be aired in 2010. In October of 2009 Jason accepted a part time position as the youth minister at Edgware Masorti synagogue. There he is responsible for the education needs for the youth of the community and runs an exciting youth programme and Hebrew phonics program. Jason also takes services in this community and other communities,in and around London, often working with other cantors and choirs. Providing services and concerts. Jason has a rich and full sounding Tenor voice with a well established range. He is happy to travel further a field for more interesting engagements and has sung in many countries around the world including America, Belgium, Holland, France, Poland, Gibraltar to name just a few, as well as prominent locations in this country including Trafalgar square on more than one occasion, The Royal Opera House, St John Smith Square, and Westminster.
